The Jos repertory Theatre is relaunching itself in Abuja with three plays scheduled for the coming months.

According to Dr. Patrick-Jude Oteh in a statement, explaining the troupe’s absence in Abuja it has not been an easy search for a regular performance venue in Abuja to keep ticket prices as low as possible.

Although Abuja hasn’t witnessed the JRT on stage since its January 2017 performance of Erben’s ‘Kytice,’ Oteh said, “we went into heavy programming in Hausa radio drama that was broadcast in 22 radio stations in Northern Nigeria! That same initiative is continuing in translating/broadcasting those same drama series into Pidgin English.”

He added that, “We were also at the 2017 MUSON Festival, Lagos in October with a memorable performance of Sefi Atta’s ‘The Engagement.’”
