The school would now compete with winners from other regions in the country to clinch the ticket to be among three schools to represent the country at the international LEGO league tournament.
The competition, according to the organisers, was aimed at improving creativity, creative thinking, programming and artificial intelligence of children between the ages of seven and 16.
Representative of the organisers, CODERINA, Dr. Hammawa Mohammed of the Department of Computer Science, University of Abuja, said the competition was organised to help science and technology students boost their skills.
“There is need to help young children that have zeal and aspiration to study science and technology by showing them the benefits derivable from the subjects, by showing them what they can think of and how they can contribute in developing certain things, by using their Intelligence Quotient,” he said.
Mohammed said that some of the students were great thinkers but lacked the opportunity to develop their intelligence.
