President of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), comrade Marwan Mustapha Adamu has condemned the attack of High Court Complex in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital by unknown hoodlums on Friday.

According to him, the attack led to the disruption of court proceedings as well as destruction of government properties.

In a statement, comrade Marwan said such act is barbaric, calling on security agencies to bring the perpetrators to book to serve as deterrent to others. 

Marwan who is also a member of the National Executive Council of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) further said the attacked was uncalled for, because court room is for everyone.

“The National Secretariat of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) condemned the attacked of the High Court Complex Port Harcourt, by unknown hoodlums disrupting Courts processes as well as destroying Court properties, causing chaos and rampage on Friday, 11th May, 2018.

“We wish to also state that the court is open to all and so aggrieved persons or group of persons are to approach the court in a civil manner where such matters could be filed and addressed rather than taking laws into their hands,” he said.

Comrade Marwan urged members of the union in the state to return to work by Monday 14, May, 2018 as measures have been taken by the security agencies to arrest the situation.
