Seven out of the eleven-man executive board of the federation said the decision to sack its president, Mr Timothy Nsirim was based on lack of direction since the inception of the board last year.
Spokesman of the board,Engineer Sulaiman Ahmed said that apart from invoking the new international rule which stipulates that only ex-Judokas can head leadership position in its affiliates, the former president Mr Nsirim was not able to steer the affairs of the federation.
This, he said, resulted in the body not meeting to deliberate on the way forward for the sport as they were elected to do.
 In the meeting held at the Velodrome inside the Abuja National Stadium, Dr. Oshodi Musa was elected the new president with Alhaji Sulaiman Damisa as vice-president.
“The Federation wishes to announce the change of leadership, due to the passing of  vote of no confidence on Mr Nsirim,the former President and his replacement with Dr Oshodi.We have written to the National Sports Commission/Ministry of sports and relevant agencies for an update,”Ahmed said.
