There is no doubt the fact that the construction work is good and in the interest of road users. But a situation in which motorists going to work in the morning have to endure the traffic jam for not less than an hour is of no profit. Many vehicles break down in the traffic jam, and a lot of business appointments are not kept because of this predicament. Also, it is a pity for top government officials who use siren to scare other motorists away from the road in the face of traffic confusion.

In other countries, construction works that could cause such traffic jams are done at night, not in the morning hours when workers will be rushing to their work places. Julius Berger should not do otherwise. The company should do what is practised in their parent country, because the Nigerian people who suffer untold hardship in the traffic jam are human beings, too.
