Maimuna Aliyu, mother of Maryam Sanda, has been released from the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Daily Trust reports.

Our reporter gathered that she was released around 4pm after meeting a new set of bail conditions after the commission agreed to vary the earlier set bail conditions. Her legal team had reportedly written to the commission seeking the bail condition variation.

The new bail condition saw her produce a surety that is on a Grade Level 15 with the federal government’s civil service. The surety also signed a bail bond of N10million.

Daily Trust reported earlier today that Maimuna was granted an administrative bail by the ICPC after hours of questioning on Wednesday but as at 12:17pm today remains in the commission’s custody as she is yet to meet the conditions of the bail.

It was gathered that she was requested to produce two sureties in the employment of the federal government on Grade Level 16 and must be resident in Abuja who must produce letter of introduction evidencing his/her status as a staff of the organisation where he/she works.

The sureties were expected to sign a bond of N10million each for her release. They were also expected to produce original Certificate of Occupancy (CofO) of land located in Abuja.
