President Bola Tinubu and the leadership of the organized labour in the country are currently locked in a closed door meeting over the protracted minimum wage impasse in the country.

The meeting is expected to dwell extensively on the crisis surrounding the inability of the Federal Government and Labour to come to reach a compromise over the new minimum wage.

TUC President, Comrade Festus Osifo, had confirmed to reporters, on Wednesday that President Tinubu invited them for a meeting.

Following the conclusion of negotiations by the Tripartite Committee and the submission of the report to President Tinubu, parties have been waiting for the next line of action.

While the government and the Organised Private Sector agreed on N62,000, labour is insisting on N250,000.

President Tinubu had said he needed time to consult with other stakeholders before sending the bill for the new minimum wage to National Assembly for enactment.

Meanwhile Labour leaders were sighted by Daily Trust making their way into the Presidential Villa at about 2pm in a White Coloured Bus.

Among those seen were, NLC President, Joe Ajaero, and Osifo of TUC.
