The week-long event, which holds between May 5 and 9, will have in attendance several dignitories including Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State.
The highlight of the event will be the presentation of papers and journals in honour of Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, a retired Justice of the Supreme Court.
According to the president Jide Akinrinola and secretary Hassan Jiyah, the theme of the event is ‘Legal Education in Nigeria: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow; the Prospect of Aspiring Lawyers’.
The lecture on Monday titled: ‘Clinical Legal Education (CLE): The Missing Link in the Legal Education Curriculum in Nigerian Universities’ will be delivered by Prof. Akin Ibidapo-Obe of University of Lagos while Justice Valentine Ashi of the FCT High Court will deliver the keynote address.
The Tuesday lecture titled: ‘Women and the Law: Role Conflict Among Female Aspiring Lawyers; Implication for the Bar and the Bench’ will be delivered by Justice V.V. M. Venda of the FCT High Court while Funke Adekoya (SAN) of the University of Abuja will deliver the keynote address.
Other highlights of the event include the moot court on Wednesday May 7; excursion to Supreme Court on Thursday May 8; and dinner/award night on Friday May 9.
