Our correspondent however gathered that the 16 victims kidnapped in Sabon Gero did not pay ransom before they were released as disclosed by the leader of the Civilian Joint TaskForce in the community, Uwasu Yunusa.
A community leader in Keke B who pleaded for anonymity confirmed to our correspondent that N2.5m was paid for their release.
He said, “The victims came back to the Keke B community on Saturday and were received by jubilant neighbours.
“Unfortunately, one person is still in captivity because the bandits insisted that his family must purchase two motorcycles before he is released.”
The leader of the CJTF in Sabon Gero also confirmed that no ransom was paid for the victims, which include medical personnel and 15 others, adding that they have been reunited with their families.
