Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, says the reconstruction of Tudun Biri, the community “mistakenly” bombed by a military drone on December 3, 2023, will start in two weeks. 

The governor disclosed this during the National Executive and National Working Committee Meeting of Fityanul Islam of Nigeria, held at the Kaduna State University.

In response to the Islamic group’s call for swift actactiothe governor revealed that he discussed the matter with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu five days prior.

“Five days ago, I met with Mr President on the need to quickly rebuild Tudun Biri and the President quickly called the Vice President and we discussed on the issues and he (Tinubu) assured me that the work will begin in two weeks time,” he said.

The governor assured the people that there will be construction of houses, a hospital, school, market, and a police station in Tudun Biri under the Federal Government’s reconstruction project.

He highlighted the state government’s support, having provided psychosocial assistance to the 75 victims during their 17-day stay at the state women and children facility.

Governor Sani announced a committee, led by Deputy Governor Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, to manage and distribute community donations, emphasizing the commitment to ensuring justice for Tudun Biri residents.

He promised to allocate a parcel of land to Fityanul Islam of Nigeria as requested by the group and expressed support for the organization’s plan to establish an orphanage in the state.

The National Leader of the organisation, Sheikh Muhammad Arabi Abdul Fathi, urged the government to expedite Tudun Biri’s rebuilding.

He also called on the Federal Government to subsidise the 2024 Hajj fare due to the increased exchange rate.

He appealed to all state governors to focus on improving their states’ economies to alleviate the impact of the economic hardships on Nigerians.
