About 4, 000 residents of Birnin Yero community in Igabi local Government Area of Kaduna have been offered free medical treatment by the Nigerian Army as part of activities lined up for the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) First Quarter Conference and Combat Arms Training Week, 2019.

The outreach was organised by 1 Division Headquarters, Nigerian Army Kaduna in collaboration with Nigerian Army Medical Corps as part of its social responsibility to its catchment area.

The COAS, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, led by the Nigerian Army Medical Team to the community along Kaduna-Zaria Road went round the Birnin Yero Local Education Primary school venue of the outreach and observed the services being offered to residents.

Our correspondent reports that residents were offered various services including gynecology, distribution of insecticide treated nets, dental services, diabetic screening, glaucoma screening, laboratory services, tuberculosis screening, hypertension screening and malaria prevention/treatment members of the community.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, District Head of Rigachikun, Malam Abdulrasheed  Sani,  thanked the Army Chief for the gesture and appealed for such to be extended to neighbouring communities.

He noted that the peaceful coexistence being enjoyed in the community is achieved through the efforts of the Division and urged them to sustain the collaboration.
