The newly elected chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN), Kaduna State chapter, Reverend Joseph Hayab, has promised to work for peace and unity in the state.
He said he would work hard to restore the old good years of dialogue between Christian and Muslim leaders for the peace of the state.
Speaking with Aso Chronicle on telephone after his election, Hayab promised to join hands with the people of different faiths to refute rumour mongering amongst the people of the state.
“When rumour takes over a society, people become afraid and cannot do anything meaningful.
“Those who specialise in peddling divisive messages as leaders will be denounced by us because you cannot lead people and want to divide them,” he said.
He therefore urged Christians to pray for the unity and peace of Kaduna State and the country before, during and after elections.
