The village head of Turunku community in Igabi LGA of Kaduna State, Alhaji Ibrahim Usman, has called on the state government to renovate the house of the principal of the Government Secondary School in the community so he can live within the school premises.

The village head, however, lamented that the house, which should accommodate the principal of the school, is in a terrible state even though the state government recently renovated classrooms in the school.

“The house is inhabitable because its roof, windows and doors are damaged. We are appealing to the state governor, Malam Nasir el-Rufai, to help repair the house because as it is now, even goats cannot be kept there.

“We are happy to say that some classrooms were renovated by this administration but the principal’s house was left untouched. This is why we are appealing so that the principal can live within the school premises,” he appealed.

The village head explained that following the introduction of free education for girls in the state, more girls have enrolled in schools from the community and neighbouring villages, adding that the community also needs access road and other social amenities.
