Debutants Clearwater Farms polo team has become the first team to win a major prize in the opening week of the ongoing 2025 NPA GTCO Lagos international polo tournament.
The Kaduna based polo warriors defeated their local rivals, Kaduna Dattaku polo team 13-61/2 in an exciting four chukka final that thrilled the fans from the start to finish.
Clearwater parading Baba Dawule, Aliyu Tijani Kabire Seidu and Argentine professional, Nico Recaite jumped to the driving seat from the first chukka of the tense encounter after cancelling their 31/2 handicap goals they conceded to their opponents and led all the way to the final bell to emerge the first major champion.
The highly sought after Dapo Ojora Cup that is sponsored by Mota-Engil is played annually during the Lagos international polo tournament in the everlasting memory of the Nigerian polo icon and former Captain of the Lagos Polo Club.

The prestigious event that galloped off on a blistering note with 33 teams vying for four major cups and six subsidiary prizes and individual awards, enters its second week with high handicap teams loaded with professionals from Argentina, Europe and South Africa vying for honours from February 12.
