The members of Dadin Kowa Nasara-Labar community located in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State have constructed a primary school to tackle illiteracy among the youth.

The school is also expected to serve neighbouring Masashiya and Nasarawa communities.

A community leader, Sahabi Isah, said the school was built mainly to combat illiteracy and instil the love of reading among the youth.

“Members of the community teamed up and built the school with the aim of saving our children from growing up illiterates and becoming a menace to the society,” he said.

He said three blocks of classrooms were constructed with mud bricks through community efforts.
