Draws for the annual league took place over the weekend at Youth Centre hall of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kaduna. The participating teams include UBA, Fidelity bank, Zenith bank, Eco bank, Access bank and Microcred microfinance bank.

The six teams that registered will play in one group as each of the teams will play five matches between March, 24 to April, 28 while the final and third place match will be on May 12, 2012. The first and second placed teams will play in the final, while the 3rd and 4th place team will play the third place match.

Following the draw, last year finalist, Fidelity bank will play Microcred Microfinance in the opening match, Access bank will play Eco bank in the second match while the third match will be between 2009 finalist, UBA against Zenith bank.

According to the chief organizer of the competition, Mr. Vincent Akinbami, the essence of the tournament is to improve the fitness and physical wellbeing of staff of various organizations including banks, insurance and telecommunication companies in the state as well as to foster unity and comradeship among organizations.

He also pointed out that the tournament is being sponsored by Bestworth Insurance Brokers and supported by Wadson International Limited in Kaduna.

“Skye bank won the first edition while Unity bank won the second, third and fourth editions to win the cup for keeps. This year’s edition will also see talented players win individual prizes including best goalkeeper, best midfielder, best defender, highest goal scorer and most valuable player and best coach among others,” he said.

He noted that there is going to be a cup for the winner, medals for the first, second and third place teams just all participating players would get certificate.
