Supervisory councillors across Kaduna State have declared their readiness to take Governor Uba Sani’s message of inclusive governance directly to the grassroots, as they unanimously endorsed him for a second term in office ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Representing all 23 local government areas, the councillors said they were uniquely positioned to mobilise communities at ward and neighbourhood levels in support of the governor, whom they credited with restoring trust, unity and a sense of belonging among Kaduna’s diverse population.

According to the councillors, Governor Sani’s leadership has marked a turning point for a state previously strained by religious and ethnic divisions. They noted that his deliberate outreach to all segments of society has rekindled hope and strengthened peaceful coexistence across communities.

The endorsement was announced during a well-attended gathering themed “Harmony and Hope: Building a Better Kaduna Together Under His Excellency, Dr Uba Sani.” The event served as both a show of solidarity and a strategic platform to galvanise grassroots structures ahead of future political engagement.

Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, Chairman of the Supervisory Councillors, Barrister Lolo Garba Ikara, alongside Planning Committee Chairman, Nura Dabo, said the governor’s inclusive approach to governance has empowered local representatives and given them a stronger voice in decision-making.

They stressed that the rebuilding of trust between Christians and Muslims, as well as the fair spread of opportunities across the state, has made it easier for councillors to engage citizens and promote unity at the community level.
In recognition of what they described as “unprecedented performance and people-centred leadership,” the councillors presented Governor Uba Sani with an award naming him the best performing governor in Kaduna State’s history.

Also speaking at the event, the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Sir James Kanyip, affirmed that the governor’s politics of inclusion has helped resolve long-standing feelings of marginalisation. He pointed to the emergence of two federal ministers from Kaduna State as evidence of balance, fairness and effective representation.

The councillors concluded by pledging to leverage their grassroots networks to sustain the momentum of peace, inclusion and development, insisting that Governor Uba Sani’s leadership remains vital to Kaduna State’s continued progress beyond 2027.
