The Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has picked Dr. Hadiza Balarabe as his running mate for the 2019 governorship elections.
This confirms a Daily Trust report on Friday which hinted that the state governor has nominated Dr. Balarabe.
A statement by Samuel Aruwan, senior special assistant to the governor, said the choice of Dr. Balarabe complements El-Rufai’s deliberate policy of promoting women.
The incumbent Deputy Governor, Architect Barnabas Yusuf Bala, has opted for the National Assembly and has since emerged as the APC’s candidate for the Southern Kaduna Senatorial District.
Dr. Balarabe is the Executive Secretary, Kaduna State Primary Health Care Development Agency, a position she has held since February 2016 and studied Medicine at the University of Maiduguri and graduated in 1988. Born in 1966, Dr. Balarabe is from Sanga Local Government Area.
