Billed for the magnificence lawns of Fifth Chukker Polo Lawn, the African Patrons Cup is a continental polo fiesta featuring ten equally matched teams in a weeklong cutting edge polo action to decide who wears the crown as the Africa’s best polo kings.
It has been a year long preparations leading to this clash of the titans and the last two weeks as been intense as the teams pick their final list for the battle. And one topic that has continued to whet the appetite of many African fans – and lovers of the noble game of polo around the world, has been – “which patron owns Africa’s best polo team?”
The continental fiesta pits tough and unyielding sides like the defending champions, Fifth Chukker Tavia/Trojan, Rubicon Aeronautics, Ghana XEX, and EL-Amin/IBTC. Others are MRS Oil& Gas, Carveton Helicopters, Trafigura/ Linetrale, DeeBee Farms, while Katsina Hajara Farms complete the list
Of the ten ambitious contenders heavily armed with players at their peak and enough horsepower to start military insurgence, five are debutants, while the rest are in the continental challenge for the second time.
