The last prayers were held on November  9, last year.
Led by their Chief Imam, Sheikh Jibrin Adam and his deputy Nai’ibi Malam Yahaya Abubakar, venue of the prayers session LEA Primary School, Adamawa Road, Kaduna was packed full as heads of households came with almost entire members.
Imam Adam who started recitation of the Holy Qur’an from Suratul Fatiha then to Suratul Baqara was joined by the crowd to complete the recitation of the complete Qur’an. Afterwards, the Chief Imam led in the glorification of Allah, seeking of his forgiveness, saying “if not Allah, no authority can forgive our sins,” adding that “for our prayers to be answered, we must seek Allah’s forgiveness and refrain from further disobeying Allah.”
Imam Adam then used the Qur’an recitation session as intercession for them so that peace would reign in Nigeria and for a successful conduct of next month’s election.
He said Nigeria was passing through trying moments and warned people to be careful of their involvement in different activities, especially those that may provoke anger and lead to crisis. He also urged the people to obtain their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) more so that the federal government has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to issue Nigerians with their PVCs.
Amir of CIMCON, Kaduna State Chapter Alhaji Mikail Ibrahim said the prayers were carried out to seek Allah’s intervention in the security situation facing the nation. He also prayed Allah to safeguard Muslims wherever they are in the face of the current insurgency in North East of Nigeria, just as he warned CIMCON members to be wary of what they do and say anywhere they are.
Other clerics who prayed at the occasion included the Deputy Chief Imam Malam Yahaya Abubakara and Ustaz Shehu Ahmed Bello all of who called on Muslims to stand up against the insurgency and other machinations against Islam.
Ustaz Bello said the linking of Muslims to insurgency in the North East of Nigeria and other terrorism acts around the world was an attempt at giving a ‘dog a bad name in order to hang it, adding that Muslims must reject such a tag as it was a kind of an alibi to fight Islam and Muslims worldwide.
