Major polo centers in the northern part of the country are bracing for exciting times as the Kaduna Polo Club, Kano, Abuja, Fifth Chukker and others have concluded plans to host mega Sallah Polo Tournaments to celebrate this year’s Ramadan holiday in style.

Polo Royals can authoritatively report that Fifth Chukker Polo Club in Kaduna has already scheduled its Easter/ Eid polo tournament to be held at the lawns of the Kangimi Resort from April 11-14, to celebrate the end of the Islamic and Christian religious festivities.

Other major polo centers like Kaduna Polo Club, Kano Polo Club, Guards Polo Club in Abuja and Katsina Polo Club among others, are putting finishing touches to preparations to host a special tournament as the highlight of 2024 Sallah Holidays.

Apart from celebrating Sallah, the festive tourneys that are traditionally open to playing members of the respective club usually present a timely opportunity for the clubs to prepare their players ahead of the commencement of the polo season that went on recess in March before the Ramadan fasting period set in.

A Chieftain of Kaduna Polo Club who dropped this hint in a phone chat, told polo Royals that the Sallah holiday in Kaduna this year would be special and memorable.

“Yes we are hoping to organise a special Sallah mini tournament this year for all the good reasons,” Kontagora reassures, adding that “Kaduna Polo Club has a tradition of hosting Sallah tournaments and the committee is pulling all stops to host another exciting and memorable event this May,” he disclosed.
