Kaduna North Local Government Council Chairman, Muktar Boloni has presented a budget of N4.7 billion for 2022 to the Local Council Legislature in Kaduna.
The chairman, while presenting the budget at the legislative chamber of the council said his administration targets N1.4 billion internally generated revenue in 2022.
“The budget is based on the needs of our people and the sectors with the highest budget include human development, education, health and security. The budget will focus more on these areas,” he said.
He explained that before the budget presentation, the council had engaged with various stakeholders at a town hall meeting to hear directly from the people their needs and aspirations.
He said the budget will cater for the most vulnerable and their primary needs.
The chairman also added that Kaduna North LG has included in the budget, provision for scholarships to cater for students of Kaduna State University that are residents of Kaduna North, adding that skills acquisition programme is also proposed to address youth unemployment in the society.
In his remarks, the Speaker of the Legislature and the Councillor representing Hayin Banki, Umar Iliyasu, commended the chairman for the budget presentation and vowed to ensure its full implementation.
