Each suite has two rooms-a bedroom for the patient and a sitting room for relations and visitors, along with private toilet and bathroom.
The wards are to run as a commercial outfit under the centre’s NEC Venture in hopes of increasing internally generated revenue, said the centre’s chief medical director, Dr Godwin Adejor.
“It is also the plan of management to develop this project in such a way that it might evolve into Public Private Partnership (PPP) in future,” he said at the opening.
“With this in place, it is our belief that Nigerians especially those highly placed would no longer have to travel overseas in search of modern and comfortable facilities as they can receive comparable services in National Eye Centre.”
