The Commissioner of Police, Kaduna State, Austin Iwar has said that the state needs 50 more Divisional Police Offices to compliment the 44 already existing to effectively police the state and rid it of crime and criminality.

Speaking during a sensitization visit to Rigasa, Igabi Local Government Area of the state as part of his community engagement programme, the CP said a general survey has shown that the present police divisions needed to be expanded in line with developments in the state. 

He frowned at the high rate of rape and sodomy in the area and called on parents to inculcate strong moral values into their wards to enable them grow up to be respectable members of society.

 In his remarks, Commander of the Central Safety Security Patrol Unit Rigasa (CESSPUR), Malam Yunusa Sarki, said the security situation in Rigasa community has improved tremendously even though there were still some challenges.

Speaking earlier, the Sarkin Hayin Malam Bello, Alhaji Kabiru Isa Gangarida, said his community has offered two plots of land to government for the construction and establishment of the Hayin Malam Bello Police Division, while presently there were 2 1/2 plots of land which could be converted for the construction of a police division.
