Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has disclosed that his state has been collaborating with Niger State in order to end banditry by sharing of information and intelligence.

He has also expressed worry over the incessant case of killings and kidnappings in both states, saying they are working tirelessly to end the menace within a short period of time.

El-Rufai spoke during a private visit to Minna, the Niger State capital to condole with the government and people of the state over the recent demise of some prominent citizens of the state.

The governor voiced confidence that banditry and other high-level criminal tendencies would soon come to an end with the renewed and sustained efforts by the security agencies in the affected states.

He acknowledged that informants had played a major role in the unsuccessful attempt to completely eliminate the bandits and enjoined religious, traditional and community leaders to preach against their activities.

He also stressed the need for people to share intelligence with the government about these informants so that the security agents could deal with them.

On his part, the governor of Niger State assured that his government would not rest on its oars by ensuring that the fight against banditry was brought to an end.
