Gan-Gora community in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State erupted in joy at the weekend following a donation of books, desks, and chairs to Government Secondary School, Gan-Gora, by Jeje Riders Nigeria.

The presentation, which took place on the school premises, drew community stakeholders, including traditional rulers, political leaders, and residents, who gathered to celebrate what they described as a life-changing gesture.

The donation formed part of Jeje Riders Nigeria’s nationwide initiative to promote education and empower young people through improved learning environments.

Jeje Riders Nigeria, an international touring bikers’ association, has evolved into a humanitarian group with projects spanning education, health, and social welfare.

In his remarks, the President and Chairman, Board of Trustees of Jeje Riders Nigeria, Ibrahim Mathew Tizhe, said the group’s passion for youth development stems from its vision of a prosperous Nigeria driven by education and a healthy lifestyle.

> “Our goal is to see young Nigerians equipped with knowledge and the right values for national progress,” Tizhe said.

 

Also speaking, a member of the group, Joel Bwankwot, said the team is motivated by a strong belief that education remains the foundation for sustainable development.

> “Like we have done in other states, we came here to support our younger ones. We may not do it all, but we always try to contribute something meaningful,” he said. “We hope these students will make good use of the materials to improve their lives and their community.”

 

The Principal of GSS Gan-Gora, Mr. Soldier Rafael, described the donation as unprecedented in the school’s history.

> “Since I became principal, we have never received such a gesture. This will go a long way in improving our students’ learning experience,” he said, while appealing to the Kaduna State Government to address the issue of overcrowded classrooms and dilapidated facilities.

 

On behalf of the host community, the Chairman of Gan-Gora Development Committee and retired FRSC Assistant Corps Marshal, Ayuba Gora Wobyin, commended Jeje Riders Nigeria for what he called “a deeply touching intervention.”

> “This school is dear to the heart of our community, and this is the first time we are witnessing a donation of this magnitude. The group has touched the very soul of Gan-Gora,” Wobyin said.

 

He urged the students to take advantage of the opportunity and make their benefactors proud.

Two senior students, James Joseph and Endurance Audu, both of SS3, expressed gratitude to Jeje Riders Nigeria for the intervention and appealed to the state government to renovate their collapsing classrooms, which they said hinder effective learning.

Speaking to journalists, a founding member of Jeje Riders Nigeria, Tijjani St. James, said the initiative aligns with the group’s creed and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

> “We focus on youth development through deterrence and support. Our anti-drug and substance abuse campaign, in partnership with the NDLEA, is one example,” he said.
“So far, we have reached eight schools across northern Nigeria and Imo State, donating over 122 computers, digital screens, solar systems, and classroom furniture.”

 

St. James, who also serves as the Chief Commercial Officer of Notore Chemical Industries Plc, explained that the group funds its projects through membership contributions, donations, and grants, noting that Flour Mills of Nigeria remains one of its key partners.

He added that Jeje Riders Nigeria comprises seasoned professionals and senior security personnel, including Professor Mohammed Garba Mainasara, an ENT surgeon renowned for performing groundbreaking cochlear implant surgeries on children with hearing loss in Kaduna.
