Students of the Queen Amina College in Kaduna have gotten over 200 sanitary items donated by  Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) to commit to hygiene improvement.

The group comprises Praise Women for All Nations (PWAN), the Rose Sharon Foundation (RSF) and the Daughters-In-Dispora (DID), which also sensitised the students on the need to ensure that their menstrual cycle is properly taken care of.

President General of PWAN, Dr Funbi Fred Addo, explained that educating girls about menstrual hygiene helps increase their self esteem. 

Country Manager for RSF, Dr Ndudi Bowai and the North Zonal Leader of DID, Mrs Felicia Joseph, stressed the need for a girl child to understand what menstrual hygiene is all about.

Deputy Director Public Health Department, Ministry of Health, Kaduna state, Habiba Jibril, educated the students on menstrual hygiene noting that reliable and hygienic solutions for ladies could boost their confidence to live their lives normally.
