The star fixture which effectively kick started the 2010/2011 league season lived up to pre-match hype as both sides gave a good account of themselves.

Both goals were scored in the first half with the visitors taking the lead through Rabiu. The host fought back to avert home defeat as they piled pressure on Pillars defence until Seaman Yusuf grabbed the much needed equalizer  for them.

Speaking to Trustsports on the outcome of the match, captain of Kaduna United, Papa Idris who did not feature in the opening match due to injury lauded the performance of Kano Pillars.

He said Pillars are highly experienced players and it took his team mates hard work to hold them.

Idris also expressed satisfaction with officiating which he said was fair and firm.

He said if such officiating will be sustained, most clubs would record away victories this season.

“I am satisfied with the result. Both sides played good football and the officiating too was excellent. If this continues, many clubs would record away victories this season”, he stated.
