Kaduna western by-pass has become a deathtrap

The Nnamdi Azikiwe express road (western by-pass) in Kaduna-south Local Government Area of Kaduna State has deteriorated so much that it has become a deathtrap to motorists. The road is the link between Kano and the Abuja expressway.  Apart from its strategic position, the economic importance of this road cannot be overemphasised. Several vehicles of different types ply the road which also connects the Federal Capital Territory to the South, West and other parts of Nigeria.
Last week, a terrible accident occurred on the road when a vehicle attempted to avoid a pothole. I recognise the fact that some patchwork has been done on the road, but more needs to be done.
I call on the Federal Government, through Senator Shehu Sani,  Rufai Ahmad Chanchangi, (member representing Kaduna-South federal constituency), Malam Samaila Suleiman, (member representing Kaduna-North federal constituency) to please come to the aid of motorists by carrying out maintenance work on the road.
