The story is so for the new epic ‘Inalé,’ Nollywood’s latest delight featuring Nigerian/British actress Caroline Chikezie as lead character, and renowned Hollywood actor, Hakeem Kae-Kazim.
The plot of the movie musical is centred on the intrigues of love, bravery and valour and the test of love across two enemy communities in a time of conflict.
‘Inalé’ is of the Idoma folklore based on the love trials and challenges of the beautiful princess, Inalé and her heartthrob, Odeh as well as the fact that he has to go into a wrestling contest to have her hand in marriage. The much-looked-forward-to event turned to be the a spectacle for the villagers of a masked stranger who points out to them that, that challenges are restricted to the traditions of the village law, the future of the kingdom but also to the strength of Odeh and Inalé’s true love.
The Jeta Amata direction, features Keppy Ekpeyong, who plays the role of the Great King Oche of Idomaland; Ini Edo-Ehiiagwina, Omawunmi, Dede Mabiaku, Nse Ikpe, Etim and Mbong Amata. The movie soundtrack was also home-produced featuring original tracks by the legendary Bongos Ikwue.
‘Inalé’ is said to be the first Nigerian movie musical shot in celluloid. It will premiere on October 22nd at the GD Cinemas in Lagos and at the Silverbird Cinemas, Abuja on October 28th.
