Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufa’i of Kaduna State has urged communities in the state to pay attention to the education of their children to secure their future.

The governor, who stated this in a message to the Annual Takad Cultural Day celebration held on Saturday at Fadan Attakar in Kaura Local Government Area, said education was the backbone of every human society.

Represented by the Caretaker Committee Chairman, Kaura Local Government, Dr Bege Humble Katukah, Governor el-Rufa’i commended Takad community for the cultural festival as it reminded the community of where it was coming from.

In his speech, the Agwam Takad, Mr Tobias Nkom Wada, commended the Kaduna State Government, non-governmental and religious organisations and public-spirited individuals for the various interventions which, he said, helped to restore peace to Takad community after it came under series of attacks since 2011.

The royal father, however appealed to the Kaduna State and Kaura local governments to improve infrastructure in the chiefdom especially, the road from Kaura to Zangang.

Earlier, the National President, Takad Community Development Association, Mr John Tobias, lamented that reconstruction of destroyed houses during the attacks launched on the community was a great challenge to the affected people.

He also lamented that the challenge posed by the inability to reconstruct the houses destroyed has in turn, made rehabilitation of displaced people difficult.

He therefore appealed to government, NGOs and public-spirited individuals to come to the aid of the affected people to resettle.
