Kaigama,who is President of Association of Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (ASCSN) secured 356 votes to defeat President of Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN), Comrade Babatunde Ogun,who got 314 in a tightly fought contest.
President of Association of Senior Staff of Banks, Insurance, and other Financial Institutions (ASSBIFI), Comrade Sunday Olusoji Salako emerged first deputy president while president of Construction union, Comrade Augustine Etaifo was voted second deputy president.
While President of Senior Staff Association of Electricity and Allied Companies (SSEAEC), Comrade Bede Opara emerged third deputy president, Comrade Babatunde Abdulraman, president, Food and Beverage Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (FOBTOB) was voted treasurer, with Comrade Benjamin Okewu of the Air Transport Workers clinching the financial secretary post.
Comrade Balami Isaac David was returned unopposed as public relations officer while Comrade Alalade Mathew clinched the post of auditor 1 with Comrade Ola Olagoke becoming auditor 2.
Comrade F.O Faniran, Moshood O. Akinade and Rotimi Olarinde emerged as national trustees of the congress.
Oyinkan Olasanoye will lead the TUC Women Commission for the next three years.
Minister of Labour and Productivity Emeka Wogu in his congratulatory message to TUC urged the new leaders to toe the line of established paradigm shift in government-labour relationship which encourages dialogue rather than confrontation.
