Screen goddess on Dadin Kowa Sabon Salo TV Drama series of the Arewa 24, Fati Nayo, has attributed the fate of female movie stars not marrying early in their career pursuit to negative perceptions they have been subjected to by the society.

Popularly known as Kyauta Dilaliya, Nayo said the actresses are usually being understood within the context of the roles they play in the films and their physical appearance.

She added that because of the misconceptions prospective suitors are being scared off hence the pilling up of single ladies in the industry.

The actress said smart women who always try to look decent are being misconstrued for waywardness.

Recalling her own experience she said “even myself before I started acting many guys had told me that they had wanted to ask my hand in marriage but they were scared off because I seem exposed.

“How would you conclude that I am exposed and not your class since you haven’t approach me, it is only in the Hausa society that if a woman tries to look decent and presentable that she is being misconstrued for a wayward girl.

“It once happened to me when I made up my mind to get married one of my aunties asked me are you done with your high levels and want to settle down?”
