Beneficiaries of the project, ‘Kannywood meets Nollywood’, which recently held in Los Angeles, U.S.A for artistes of the Hausa movie industry, have organised a training programme for their colleagues at home.
 This is in an effort to strengthen their capacity and enhance the industry’s output, as well as upgrade the industry’s production status in the global perspective.
Addressing the participants during the exercise, the leader of the team, Ali Nuhu, stated that Hausa movie industry has enjoyed a great deal of recognition, not only regarding local content but also with international perspective.
Nuhu added that the relativity workshop they attended in LA has broadened their horizon immensely, and that the project has given the industry an opportunity to join the elite group of relativity alumni by being exposed to the latest up-to-date Hollywood best practices for possible emulation and implementation by the Hausa movie industry.
He further revealed that the idea behind the step-down training is to spread knowledge of the new techniques acquired during the workshop to others who have not attended the workshop in order to move the industry forward.
“While in LA, we learned that although we have not been left behind, we still have a lot to do in order to join the global trend of moviemaking industries. With support from Motion Picture Productions Ltd, we intend to step down to others what we have learnt before the second batch of artistes leave the shores of Nigeria for a similar training in the US,” said Nuhu.
 Not less than eight prominent actors, actresses and movie directors from the Hausa movie industry attended the Relativity’s Professional Development Workshop in Los Angeles as part of the relativity education’s global effort to teach Hollywood best practices to the Nigerian film industry.
 Some of the beneficiaries of the workshop were directly involved in the step-down training to other members of the movie industry.
