Kannywood’s producer Datti joins race for Plateau Assembly seat

Famous Kannywood producer and actor Bashir Lawandi Datti has expressed his readiness to participate actively in the forthcoming 2019 general elections.

Datti, a graduate of Mass Communication from NTA TV College, Jos during his formal introduction at the office of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Jos North local government on Tuesday, said he had the qualities to represent Jos North-North constituency at the Plateau State House of Assembly.

The Jos-born producer and the son of a former National team goalkeeper, Lawandi Datti said his blueprint when elected into office would be to have a peace building agenda that would forge and foster ethnic and religious tolerance.

He said: “Only PDP can make Nigeria a better country, but at my own level if elected, I would improve the welfare of the people through social and economic development.

"I would collaborate with state government to ensure adequate distribution of scholarship to both pupils and students of primary and secondary schools respectively.”

Datti who supervised the Nollywood’s blockbuster film ‘Sink or Swim’ also explained that he was inspired by Nollywood’s actor, Desmond Elliot’s steadfastness and commitment before he was elected to represent Surulere constituency at Lagos State House of Assembly in 2015.

Datti who produced one of the Kannywood’s block-buster movies titled ‘Gidan Aure’ also added that he would collaborate with the executive to ensure adequate and excellent healthcare service delivery.
