Kannywood’s long awaited movie ‘’Abu Hassan’’ is set to premier in film house in Kano on Friday for the entertainment pleasure of Hausa movie fans.

Executive producer of the film Zahraddeen Sani said the film will remain in cinema for one month before it is released to the market.

The film which is one of its kinds ever produced in the indigenous Hausa movie industry was greeted with a lot of criticisms before it was eventually cleared by the Kano state censorship board because of the costumes and other materials used by the casts.

The story is about a terrorist group specialized in kidnapping human beings for ransom. The leader of the group is called Abu Hassan which subsequently became the title of the film.

Abu Hassan recruited an army of able-bodied men and provided them with arms and ammunitions to target the rich people, politicians, wealthy businessmen and women and their children. After many years of successful operations, the group’s fortunate end came when they kidnapped a daughter of one military officer who was a specialist in military intelligence.  The officer took the case upon himself and liberated the general society from the siege of hostage taking for ransom. In the end the officer with the assistance of his team was able to trace the group to its root and killed the gang leader “Abu Hassan.
