Three people have been reported killed and 13 others injured after a bus in which they were travelling in caught fire by the Government Technical College in Nassarawa LGA of Kano State.

 The spokesman of the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Abdullahi, who confirmed the incident to newsmen on Wednesday, said the commercial bus, with registration number, XE 222 TRN, was coming from Ajingi LGA to Kofar Wambai when it caught fire.

 He said, “We received an emergency call from one Muktar Yusuf at about 9am that there was a fire outbreak on State Road and we immediately sent our personnel and fire fighting vehicle to the scene.”

 Abdullahi gave the names of the dead passengers as Surayya Umar and Zeenai Babaji, noting that the corpse of the third person could not be identified.

He said the remaining 13 passengers who sustained serious injuries were taken to the Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital.

 He added that the driver, Muhammed Gali (35), and the conductor, Hassan Danladi, (30), were rescued without any injury and were handed over to Insp Abubakar Ahmad of Nassarawa Police Division.
