Kano state government has allocated 903 plots to famers affected by Husawa urban development project in Ungogo local government area of the state.
Speaking during the handing over of certificates to the farmers, Kano state Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, represented by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Land and Physical Planning, Alhaji Muhammad Yusuf Danduwa said the gesture was first of its kind.
He said 974 farmlands were affected in the area and government had allocated 903 plots to the affected farmers from the same farmland meant for the scheme.
He explained that the scheme was aimed at carrying along owners of the affected farmlands in developing the area.
Speaking on behalf of the farmers, the Village Head of Husawa, Malam Ayuba Umar revealed that, the beneficiaries were happy with the scheme as it brought a sense of belonging to them.
Umar assured that members of the community would support the scheme for the overall development of the area.
