Yobe State Governor and Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Mai Mala Buni, yesterday met with the Kano State factional leaders of the party in Abuja.
Details of the meeting were very sketchy as at the time of filing this report last night.
Our correspondent reports that the APC Caretaker Committee led by Buni had on January 28, 2022, met with Ganduje and Shekarau’s camp to restore peace in the Kano State chapter of the party.
Two factions of the APC exist in Kano State following the controversies that trailed the party’s congresses last year. One of them called G-7 has Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, Senator Barau Jibrin and five others as leaders. The governor’s camp has Abdullahi Abbas as the chairman.
The Director General Press and Media Affairs to Governor Buni, Mamman Mohammed, confirmed the meeting in a statement Tuesday night.
According to him, Buni chaired the meeting held at the Yobe State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja.
The three senators from Kano; Ibrahim Shekarau, Barau Jibrin and Kabiru Gaya attended the meeting. Also in attendance included a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, House Leader Alhassan Ado Doguwa, among others.
