Kano-based Skyline University gets license today

 The National University Commission (NUC) has presented provisional license to Kano-based private university known as Skyline University, Nigeria.

Speaking earlier at the presentation of provisional license to the university, in Abuja, today, the Executive Secretary of NUC, Prof. Abubakar Adamu Rasheed described the event as a memorable one.
 
“It is with humility and deep sense of responsibility that I formally welcome you all to this memorable event scheduled for the presentation of provisional license to the newly approved Skyline University, Nigeria which is located in Kano city, Kano State."
 
“We are particularly delighted to have among us here today, Mr. Kamal Puri, the foreign co-investor in the Skyline University, Nigeria project and founder/proprietor of the 28 year old Skyline University College, Sharjah Dubai, United Arab Emirates”. He said.
 
Rasheed appreciated the proprietor’s decision to partner and invest in the Nigeria university system.
 
He said the gesture would expand and provide more access to university education in the country.
 
He recalled that the commission presented licenses to the last batch of six private universities in December 2017.
 
In his remark, the Minister of Education Malam Adamu Adamu said the approval of Skyline University Nigeria brings the number of private universities in the country to 75.
 
Adamu who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Arch. Sunday Echono, said the Skyline University was selected among several other active applicants.
He urged the university to work hard to ensure the highest standards envisaged through the adoption of best practices in order to achieve academic excellent.
 
Speaking earlier, the Proprietor of Skyline University, Nigeria Mr. Kamal Puri promised to ensure the highest standard of learning especially in the areas of science and technology.
 
In his remark, the Deputy Governor of Kano State, Prof. Hafiz Abubakar, said Kano needs more universities to be able to cater for qualified indigenes of the state seeking for university education.
