Bichi told newsmen in Kano that the system was to ensure that high environmental health standard was maintained in Kano municipality.
The managing director said that staff of the board had been stationed at various strategic locations to work on two shifts.
‘’The administration is committed to an unalloyed and total eradication of all old harmful habits of refuse disposal and sanitation among its citizens, to have a healthy environment.
‘’The governor has also graciously approved 100 per cent increment in the remunerations of the staff.’’
He said that staff motivation had made the 24-hour service effective, adding that people in the old city were also benefiting from it.
‘’Kano, as a commercial city, has received tremendous commendations from visitors who come in either through the airport or by land, due to the neat environment. I assure all residents and visitors that with some more time, this administration will make Kano city a place of pride in Nigeria in terms of neatness and orderliness,’’ Bichi said. (NAN)
