A statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of Kano State High Court of Justice, Baba Jibo Ibrahim, quoted Justice Atiku as soliciting the Federal Government’s support to create an institution that would be saddled with the duty of regulating the operations of heavy duty vehicles in the state, which he said, could help in tackling the contributions of such vehicles to creating hold ups.

The Chief Justice made the statement while receiving the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission, Ahmad Kogari Hassan, in his office. He, however, assured the visiting FRSC officials that the doors of the judiciary were always open to entertain and address any problems they may encounter in the course of discharging their duties.

Similarly, the Chief Registrar of the Kano State High Court of Justice, Basheer Abdullahi Sufi, appealed to the FRSC to bring an end to the use of defective vehicles on the roads, and to also check problems associated with achaba operators.

Speaking earlier, FRSC Sector Commander, Ahmad Kogari Hassan, said they came to the Chief Judge to solicit the support and cooperation of the state judiciary which he described as vital to their activities. The road safety commander also requested the Chief Judge to assign a Magistrate to the commission’s mobile court, for easy dispensation of traffic offences.

Hassan was accompanied on the visit by the commission’s Head of Operations, A. J. Umar, Head of Administration and Human Resources, A. T. Muhammad, Head of Public Education, Dr I. I. Dennis and Legal Officer, A. Aliyu
