A court registrar attached to a Kano State High Court, Adamu Salisu, has been found by a judicial panel of falsifying affidavits of service, forging the signature of a court bailiff, and unlawfully signing documents as Commissioner for Oaths.

He was consequently demoted for misconduct by the Kano State Judicial Service Commission during its 84th meeting, where it considered cases of misconduct by judiciary staff.

A statement signed by the spokesperson of the Kano State Judiciary, Baba Jibo Ibrahim, indicated that the court registrar was demoted from Grade Level 13 to Grade Level 12.

He was also removed as the registrar of High Court Number 13 with a strong warning to desist from unethical conduct, failure of which would result in criminal proceedings against him.

The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) investigated the registrar, and its findings were reviewed by the judicial panel, the statement added.

According to the statement, in another case, Yusuf Ayuba, a Clerical Assistant attached to High Court No. 8, Miller Road, was found to have absented himself from his duty post without justification for four months.

The panel found his conduct to amount to gross misconduct and resolved to demote him by one grade level, from Grade Level 5 to Grade Level 4.

The Commission, the statement added, reiterates its zero-tolerance policy on misconduct and reaffirms its commitment to enforcing discipline, accountability, and professional ethics across all cadres of the judiciary.
