A Kano State High Court sitting at Court No. 24 has ordered the remand of three men over alleged conspiracy, fraud and cheating involving the sum of N130 million.

The defendants, Bashir Rabiu Aliyu Danbare, Sunusi Mainasara and one Honourable Aliyu Ibrahim Haidar, a politician who is currently at large, were arraigned before the court on charges filed by the prosecution counsel, Zahraddeen Kofar Mata.

The prosecution told the court that the defendants allegedly conspired to defraud a businessman, Alhaji Sani Abdullahi, through the fraudulent sale of properties, including plots of land, houses and vehicles valued at N130 million.

The defendants, however, denied the allegations and pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Counsel to the defendants, Sunusi Lawan Fandubu, subsequently filed an application seeking bail for the accused persons.

After listening to submissions from both parties, the presiding judge, Justice Aisha Mahmud, refused the bail application.

The judge adjourned the case until June 25 for continuation of hearing and ordered that the defendants be remanded in a correctional facility pending further proceedings.
