A Kano Shari’ah Court sitting at Gama PRP has ordered the remand of four suspects for playing ludo and taking illicit substances inside a mosque.
The suspects identified as Sadik Ibrahim, Jamilu Ibrahim, Umar Ibrahim, and Adamu Ibrahim are all residents of Rimin Kebe quarters.
Earlier, one Auwalu Usman of the same address made the complaint that the four had connived and entered the mosque to play ludo and take illicit substances.
He said while he attempted to stop them, they gathered and beat him up as well as threatened him for interfering in their affairs.
The first defendant has agreed to his offence while the three others denied charges levelled against them when the prosecutor, Aliyu Abidin Murtala, read out the charges to them.
The judge, Mallam Nura Yusuf Ahmed, ordered their remand in a correctional facility until January 3, 2024, for the appearance of witnesses before the court.
