The Management of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) is
currently discussing with some private companies on the possibility of
having more sources of electricity to augment energy allocation from
the national grid.
The KEDCO’s Managing Director, Dr. Jamil Gwamna disclosed this at the
weekend during the company’s first retreat organized in collaboration
with the Bluesea Consulting. The retreat was tagged “Working Together
for Improved Efficiency and Sustainability.”
Gwamna also stressed the need for synergy and improved productivity
among staff as part of the company’s 2017 strategic plan.
According to a statement signed by the company’s spokesperson,
Mohammed Kandi, the managing director said the retreat was organized to
create a platform for brainstorming between the management and the staff
on how to move the company forward.
He said the retreat was necessary to realign the management team and
staff with the overall objectives of the firm, including “improved service delivery, enhanced customer identification and revenue collections.”
He reiterated that, while the organization would continue to serve its customers better, customers on their part are expected to ensure
prompt payment of their electricity bills.
Earlier, the Managing Director of Bluesea Consulting Company, Mr. Patrick Olusola Alle, urged the staff to key into the transformation drive of the organization as championed by the management to reposition the firm for a better service delivery.
In his remarks, the Chief Corporate Service Officer, Mallam Balarabe Bello, who spoke on behalf of the participants, assured of the KEDCO’s readiness to remain focused in its desire to achieve myriad of its strategic objectives including improvements in its services.
