The Kano State government, on Wednesday, presented offers of permanent and pensionable employment to 45 traditional dancers popularly known as Koroso dancers.

The newly employed dancers who were on casual staff category are now to work under state History and Culture Bureau.

Speaking while presenting the offers at the ministry, the Commissioner for Tourism and Culture, Ibrahim Ahmed Karaye, explained that the gesture was to reward the hardworking casual staff.

He said the Ganduje’s administration was committed towards making life easier and more meaningful to its teeming populace by executing viable projects and programmes that have direct impact on the socio-economic development of the state.

Earlier, the Executive Secretary, History and Culture Bureau, Ibrahim Umar Tofa, expressed profound appreciation to the administration for employing the dancers.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Abdulaziz Abubakar and Jimmai Dauda pledged to put in their best in preserving the cultural heritage of the state.
