Kano FA to honour top performers in various state leagues

Kano State Football Association has moved to recognise outstanding performers in the five existing football leagues which engage more than 500 football clubs across Kano – one of Nigeria’s most populous states.

The leagues namely: Ahlan League Div 2, Rzajki pre-season league, Ahlan League Div 1, Lion League for secondary schools and the Tofa premier League have run throughout the current winding up football season.

Making the announcement at a press briefing, Monday, Hassan Abdullahi Garo, who serves as COO of the Country’s Nationwide League One and board member of Kano Football Association informed that this season will witness an unprecedented grand event to award outstanding performers in the state owned leagues.

“NLO league one at which I serve as the COO is said to be the largest league in Africa engaging exactly 375 football teams.

“It would be right to say that the Kano State Football Association with over 500 teams competing is one of the largest assemblies of football leagues in the world.

“This year we intend to give prestige to our young footballers as highest goal scorers and overall most valuable player in Kano will be among the awards to be presented,” he said.

The KFA Award Night which will be held on Saturday is expected to draw the Nigeria football community led by the NFF President, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau to the state.
