Kano farmers sensitised on FG’s agric interventions

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State

The Kano State Government is partnering with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to sensitise farmers on how to access Federal Government’s agricultural interventions.

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje said this while receiving a delegation from the CBN headquarters in his office.

Represented by his deputy, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, the governor said Kano farmers were hardworking and had contributed a lot to the sector, adding that the sensitisation would boost production.

“We are proud of our farmers, but with adequate sensitisation they will achieve a lot in production and processing. We, therefore, appreciate the efforts and support given to our farmers. This has really enhanced the relationship between us,” he said.

On his part, the leader of the CBN delegation, who is also the Deputy Director, Development Finance, Sani Muhammad Faragai, said they were in Kano to honour some beneficiaries of the Anchor Borrowers Programme with a certificate of merit.

The Controller, Kano State branch of the CBN, Ali Abdulkadir, expressed appreciation to the Kano State Government for its support, assuring that the relationship with the apex bank would continue to wax stronger.
