Kano State governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has gifted 100 Saudi riyals to each of the 3,121 pilgrims from Kano State for Sallah.
The gesture was announced by the deputy governor who is the State Amirul Hajj, Comr. Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, during his visit to the Kano Pilgrims’ Camp at Mina in Saudi Arabia.
Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu, head of the media team for Kano State pilgrims and also the deputy governor’s spokesperson, disclosed this in a statement circulated to newsmen in Kano.
Ibrahim said the governor had previously given each pilgrim N500,000 to complete their Hajj 2024 payment and an additional N150,000 to supplement their pocket money.
He revealed that in another display of generosity, Alhaji Mijinyawa, CEO of Sahad Stores, gave 50 Saudi riyals to each Kano pilgrim as a Sallah gift.
The deputy governor encouraged pilgrims to offer earnest prayers for themselves, their loved ones, the progress and development of Kano State and Nigeria at large.
In a related development, the deputy governor visited all the 44 local government areas’ tents in Mina.
He was accompanied by the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon. Yusuf Jibril Falgore, members of the House of Assembly, Head of Service – Abdullahi Musa, chairman of the pilgrims board, Alhaji Yusuf Lawal, director general of the pilgrim’s board, Alhaji Lamin Rabiu Danbappa, deputy commandant general of Hisbah Women Wing, Dr Khadija Sulaiman, among others.
